    2017/18/II. semester:

11 August, 2018: Postdoctoral trip of Dr. András Kiss

Dr. András Kiss has spent two months at the University of Homburg with a DAAD scholarship. Congratulations! A summary of his study trip is available below:

"In the summer of 2018, I was lucky to spend two months as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Universität des Saarlandes in Saarland, in the laboratory of Prof. Markus Hoth, under the supervision of Dr. Monika Bozem. In co-operation with them, I was able to adapt a deconvolution algorithm (originally worked out for potentiometric measurements) to amperometric measurements [1]. This technique has significantly increased the scan speed of the scanning electrochemical microscope. As an example, human monocyte cells (A) has been used. They were mapped under induced oxidative stress with a platinum microelectrode measuring the concentration of hydrogen peroxide (B). After deconvolution, distortion caused by the slowness of the cell has decreased significantly (C).
I would like to thank DAAD (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst) for the financial support.
